Oconee Civitan was very happy to help out at the local CASA visitation home in Athens by building and installing new bookcases. The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program was created in 1977 to make sure that the abuse and neglect that these children originally suffered at home doesn’t continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the social services system. Family Time Visitation gives children and families involved with the juvenile court options for successful visitations. The goal is to allow family visitations in a safe, non-threatening home-like setting under the supervision and support of a trained coordinator. 2011 Oconee County Civitan Retro Run 5KMore than 190 runners had a great time at the Oconee Civian Retro Run this year. Thanks to sponsors and participants, Civitan raised $5000 to help out in our community. Thanks to everyone who made it possible. |
